Witness appeal after Pear Tree shooting

The 25-year-old victim was shot as he walked along a pathway on the Pear Tree Estate in the early hours oF Monday morning.
And now police are appealing to the public for information surrounding the incident.
The man was taken to hospital and treated for gunshot injuries, the location of which have not been disclosed. But he was released from hospital on Tuesday.
The scene, in an area known locally as The Stumps, was sealed off by police as forensic officers searched for the weapon, a police spokesman said.
The man was walking with a 26-year-old female companion on a pathway between Queensway and Coulthwaite Way at 12.30am on Monday.
"As they walked along the pathway a man came out of the shrubbery with a firearm," a spokesman said.
"As the couple ran off the man was shot and he and the woman, who was uninjured, made their way to a nearby premises."
Police described the offender as male, of stocky build and wearing dark clothing.
The spokesman added: "It is believed there was another couple walking in the area prior to the shooting. The police would ask the couple to contact them."
The male has been described as being of mixed race, with a shaven head and in his early 20s.
"Police are appealing for this couple and anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any knowledge to contact them," the spokesman said.
At the time of going to press police said the weapon had not been found.
"Reassurance patrols from the neighbourhood policing unit are in the area and have been speaking to local residents.
"Forensic investigations are continuing," she added.
Three men, aged 21, 29 and 39, and a 32-year-old woman were arrested. Yesterday, the 39-year-old male was still in custody, with the others released on police bail.
